The plan was simple: just me, my boy and hockey.
Iβm the unapproachable NHL captain with a reputation for chewing up reporters in interviews, forwards on the ice and shutting down anyone who tries to get close to me. And thatβs how I like itβno feelings, no complications, and zero chance of reliving the grief I experienced when my wife passed away seven years ago.
But sometimes the best laid plans go up in flames, and thatβs exactly what Collins Mackenzie does when strolls into a bar one post-game night and gives me a taste of the cold shoulder Iβve bestowed on all those around me.
The only person she doesnβt dismiss? My boy. In fact, she lights him up with her pink hair and perfectly winged eyeliner, leaving him fascinated and me infatuated.
Thereβs only one problem: sheβs nine years younger, convinced Iβm not her type and doesnβt do relationships. She doesnβt even hang around in the same city beyond a few months. Trouble is, I want her permanence right next to meβon the couch watching movies and in my bed on lazy mornings.
Iβm ready to chase her, no matter where she goes or how quickly she hits the accelerator. This girl is a ride I never want to get off.

I was so looking forward to Sawyer's book because he is the single dad of the group. Single dad sports romance is my jam. I'm not gonna lie I was a little iffy about Collins. Wasn't quite sure if I was going to like her brand of personality, but once we get to know her it all made sense. I loved how she softens towards Sawyer's son. Their bond was one of my favorite parts of the book. I really love this team of hockey players. Ruth Stilling knows how to write hockey romance. Such great characters that keeps me coming back for more. Sawyer and Collins' love language is pushing each other's buttons that is for sure. I'm really happy how everything worked out especially for Collins. She so deserved a HEA. Truthfully Sawyer and Ezra are the missing pieces to her puzzle even if she doesn't want to admit it at first. Another great book in this series. I really can't wait for the next book in the series!
