First book in the series and my first book by Elizabeth Bright. I can say she has gained a reader. This is one caught my eye because it's a single dad romance. That's my reading jam plus add in small town romance and cowboy you have me sold. I gobbled this book right up. It also has another one of my favorite tropes grumpy/sunshine. James is all sunshine to Adam's grumpiness. James puts is perfectly when she says he has resting grump face. Adam's son Ben is a cutie. The bond he forms with James was one of my favorite parts of this book. Ben is one of Adam's soft spots then James brings out another side of this cowboy. James has what it takes to be a head horse trainer, but she needs to spread her wings when her dad passes her up for a promotion. That leads to Lodestar Ranch and the future she never saw coming. She is going to get so much more out of this job then she ever anticipated. Plus she forms great friendships with some of the ladies from town. This book delivers on the heat, heart, and humor. A well rounded romance in my book. These characters pulled me right in. It made my heart happy that Adam gave love another shot. James is like the missing puzzle piece to his family unit and ranch. I really can't wait for more from this series.
