Elody Lorrent’s heart was fused to another at an early age. But what happens when life takes a tragic turn and she’s left behind to pick up the pieces?
Burying her husband found a way to bury her soul as well. Elody now lives for her kids. Her chance at love was lost the moment her husband took his last breath. She never saw her future by someone else’s side. The only thing she didn’t account for was the grumpy parent of one of her students.
Wyatt was never known for his warm personality. His world consisted of hockey and his daughter. The only issue was his daughter’s teacher took hold of his heart in an unexpected way.
When Elody and Wyatt’s world collides, Elody fights the love that blossoms because she doesn’t trust the harsh realities that come along with living. She can’t give her heart to another after all the pain she endured. She lived on top of the world and everything collapsed. Wyatt didn’t understand that reality.

Review:
4.5 Stars
Get the tissues handy because the prologue of this book already had the tears flowing then later on they were flowing once again. A powerfully emotional read of love after loss. You can feel the pain of losing Beau when it comes Ellie. Her life is forever changed and her fresh start in a new city is part of her healing journey. Little does she know one of her favorite student's dad Mr. Grumpypants is going to a part of the journey as well. I was drawn to this book is because it's a single parent romance then add in grumpy/sunshine it's my jam. All the kids stole my heart. Little Tessa is so cute and it melts my heart seeing Wyatt in dad mode though he is very protective. While reading this one you see how much inner strength Ellie has. To overcome her grief to be there for her children is inspiring, but she is also not truly living life. I loved seeing the spark coming back into her eyes. The heart can hold love for more than one person, but letting the guilt go is another story. It's a beautiful read that pulls all the emotions out of the reader.
