This the first book in a new series and I am hooked. the work GEM is important and the operatives that work the group have personal reasons to do that work. The prologue leads to knowing not so savory characters are going to be in this one. The true scum of the earth. Opal, or Kate is working undercover to uncover what is truly going on at a youth center. when Mitch pops up again to work on a case as well things are going to real interesting. Can these two work together to bring down the bad guys and save the kids. Mitch goes through the ringer in this one. My heart just went out to him. His work hits him like never before. there is an instant draw for Mitch to Opal that ignites further once they begin to work the case together. This is a book that kept me on the edge of my seat wondering what was going to happen next. It's one heck of a journey, but well worth the reward. Loved the end and epilogue because after the journey they took this is what they deserved. Can't wait for the next book in the series!
