Some secrets have a way of coming back and haunting us, no matter how much we try to bury them.
Chelsea
Coming back home was supposed to be normal.
Not that my life had ever been normal, but it was getting there.
Then I opened the door and found a man—broken, bloodied, and fighting for his life.
I don’t know why, but I said I would take care of him. I had to. Needed to.
He was a mystery, showing up from out of nowhere. But he might have already stolen my heart.
Mayson Carey
The only thing I have ever wanted in my entire life was to forget who I was. Joining the military helped me do this.
Keep your head down and glide through life was my new motto. No strings, no relationships. Nothing.
Everything was working until a knock at the door had me face-to-face with the reason I was running.
So I ran—I fell into her arms, and she fell into my heart, but I know better than to think it’ll last.
Some secrets have a way of coming back and haunting us, no matter how much we try to bury them.

4.5 Stars
I'm so glad we got more books in this series! I wasn't ready for it to be over. Chelsea gets a book. That made me so happy. Plus I get to visit with some my favorite characters. This book starts right off with a keep you on the edge of your seat, gasping moment. This book is definitely going to pull all the emotions out of you. It hade me laugh, cry, and smile. Mayson just ripped my heart out with his backstory. That man deserves some happiness and a HEA. It made my heart happy to see Mayson and Chelsea together. They had my heart happy sighing. There is a piece of scum in this book. He is one character that I can say I have nothing, but hate for. He needs a some justice served to him. This book is so good. It brings the heart and all the feels, but plenty of drama
to leave you gripping the edge of your seat. It still blows my mind the third generation is old enough for their own stories, but it makes my heart so happy not having to say goodbye to them quite yet. I'm so looking forward to the next book in the series.
