Dreams do come true . . .
When I sat down and started my first romance novel in 2010 (after years of scribbling in notebooks & publishing on fan fiction forums) one of my dreams was to be a Harlequin Desire author - this book is a dream come true!
As a biracial Native American author, this book is also the dream of a lifetime - to see a book with Native-centric main characters on the shelves. Young Robin would have been thrilled to see this book out in the world - bucket list item checked!
In TOTB, I also got to reach back into my life as a family law attorney - specializing in contested cases - and my keen interest in the way that the social services system has an ugly history of separating Native kids from their family and culture. I loved my work, but I didn't always get to give my kids the ending I wanted for them. Those cases still sit heavy on my heart.
With the Redhawk Reunion trilogy, I get to bring Adam, Sarina, & Roan back together after 15 years and not only watch them become a family again but also find the love they need. The way it should always be . . . it's why I love writing romance - the HEA is guaranteed!
