As goalie of the Texas Mutiny, Santos is damn good at protecting that net. But he never bothered to protect his marriage.
Letting the fame and notoriety go to his head, he lost the things he loved the most… his wife and kids. Now he has one shot to make it right before losing at this relationship game and he’s determined not to miss this time.
Mariana has been scarred so deeply by Santos’s betrayals, she will carry the wounds forever. After almost ten years of marriage though, she knows him well, and she knows he won’t let go without a fight. Still, she refuses to be a push over.
Because love is never enough…
4 Stars
This book deals with a very hard issue, cheating. Now I'm not one for books that involve cheating. You could say it's a hard limit because it left an impact on me when I was younger. I decided to give this one a go because I do like this series. I'm glad I did because the way M.E. Carter wrote this book I could respect the characters at the end of this one. Santos had to redeem himself in my eyes because at the beginning of this one I was not in his corner. He could have thrown the most important thing in his life away, his family. It's a tough, long road for Santos and Mariana. Along the way though they get to know the real them. Mariana grows a lot and that was one of my favorite parts in this book. Sometimes it's hard to read, but this book is tastefully done.
