The first book in the new Hart's Landing series. I love the way the book starts and ends. A little bit of a twist I so enjoyed. I'm one that looks for signs like the lady bug in this book. Mila, my heart goes out to her. One thing I loathe with all my heart is narcissistic people. I have a few of them in my life and let me tell you the toll it takes on one's mental health until you find your backbone to stand up to them. Mine are family too so I know the struggle that Mila was faced with. This book is a what could have been if that one night didn't go down as it did. One thing that really broke my heart is how the that tight knit group of girls grew apart. That just tore my heart out. This book deals with a lot of healing not just out main characters, but the start for others. This is set in a small town so all the small town hijinks and gossip are in this one. I really loved Mila and Everett. They are so adorable! A great sense of humor in this book as well. I found myself easily gobbling up the pages. Took me a day and a half to read this one. I'm already eager to get back to this town to see what is in store for Mila's friends.

This is the first book in the Off-Campus serious. I devoured this book in a day. I loved Hannah and Garrett. Garrett is so dreamy. I love college sports romance so much because one of my favorite things is when the guys on the team share a house. I just love all the different personalities and how strong the bond is between them. I loved the sense of humor in this one. The banter between Hannah and Garrett was one of my favorite parts as well. I loved her nickname that Garrett gives her. This fake dating/tutor arrangement goes a little off the rails when all too real feelings get involved. I really disliked Garrett's dad. That man needs a swift visit from karma. Everything that Hannah has gone through to rebuild herself again is inspiring. Her hometown needs a visit from karma as well. Some nasty people reside there and to me they have the ones that never grow up and peak only with the town. I'm already so invested in this series. I can't wait to dive into the next book. I never got around to reading these books and they have been on my TBR list forever so thanks for the show coming out to give me the kick in the pants to start the series. I've really been missing out.

Another winner in this series! Clara and Wes had me gobbling up the pages. Wes pulled on my heartstrings big time. He needs someone like Clara in his life to get him living again and not just going through the motions. I totally get why he is in the mindset he is and in my opinion justified, but it's not good to live in the darkness our minds create for too long. Clara is all sunshine to Wes' broody self. As much as Clara is good for Wes the same can be said for Wes for Clara. He truly sees her. The moment that made all gooey inside is when he shows support and an eagerness to hear all about her dreams. Wes' big grand gesture had me smiling so big the whole time I read it. My neighbors were probably wondering why I was smiling so big when I was reading this on my porch. We still have the mystery of the Lady and boy do we get some more juicy tidbits on that! Let me tell you my mind it working overtime trying to unravel that mystery and what it means for our cursed with bad luck guy. This is a read that had me hooked from the first page and kept me all the way through. I read this in a day and half because life man likes to get in the way of an awesome book. I highly recommend this one and I'm eagerly awaiting the next book!!

I saw this book and I knew I had to read it. Just from the title I knew what it was about. This is part of the history for my minor league baseball team that I've been going to see play since I was 8 months old. I knew the history of this game from my grandparents who listened to the game on the radio. When in this book when they asked who would still be up listening back in Rochester I knew my grandma was one of them. My grandpa used tell the story how he woke up in bed and smelled hotdogs to turn over to see my grandma eating a hotdog still listening to the game in the wee hours of the morning. I enjoyed this book so much. The names of players my grandparents used to talk about all the time. Floyd Rayford would become my first favorite ballplayer when I came along a few years down the line. I loved the backstory of pretty much everyone involved and the stadium itself. We even get some updates on players how their lives turned out after this record setting game. One thing that stood out is how back then no cellphones so when family members didn't make it home calls were made to local hospitals and police stations looking for their loved ones in a panic. I remember going to the baseball hall of fame the year Cal Rikpen Jr was going in and the scorecard or lineup sheet from this game was on display. I thought it was so cool to see. For anyone who is truly a fan of the game and it's history this is a book is worth reading. I wish I knew this book existed years ago because my grandparents would have loved reading this.
